In a Win for U.S. 5G, JMA Unveils Plans for First Combined 5G Manufacturing and Edge Development Center in the Country
Downtown Syracuse Campus to continue local revitalization efforts, adding high-value jobs
Syracuse, NY, October 9, 2019 – JMA, a U.S innovator of 4G and 5G software-based technology, announced plans to transform a section of downtown Syracuse, NY, into an advanced 5G manufacturing and edge development center. The planned 5G campus will be the manufacturing site for the world’s first indoor 5G millimeter wave radio system.
The campus will span a city block and support a multitude of consumer- and business-facing demos along with high-tech manufacturing operations. The facility, previously Coyne Textiles, is estimated to be a $25M investment and a significant part of Syracuse’s commitment to revitalizing the downtown area, acting as a gateway to the city’s south side. At least 100 new jobs will be opened across manufacturing, testing, and production support.
“We strongly believe in the American entrepreneurial spirit and have confidence that U.S.-based engineering will make a difference in the race to 5G. We’re continuing investment in New York to set the pace for U.S.-driven 5G innovation, something we’ve been told too often must come from international providers,” said John Mezzalingua, JMA CEO.
